In this project, we designed/made a putt- putt boat. It was an interesting project. It was fun to construct this boat. We made the boat out of a cut up juice carton and a cut up Sprite can. We also used a pair of straws and a candle. It was a fun and simple design. It was satisfying to watch it put across the water. I enjoyed doing this project very much.

Engineering Concepts Midterm Study Guide
1. Lab Colors PPT Assignment
Red represents danger and or emergencies. Yellow symbolizes slowing down or caution. Orange represents dangers parts of machinery.Green symbolizes first aid and safety. Blue represents safety information. Purple represents radiation hazards.
2. Reverse Engineering (Kevin Doe Video)
Reverse engineering is taking things apart and putting them back together. This is very helpful because once I take something apart, I can see how it really works. This method helps engineers because it makes them understand things better by seeing how things really work. This method should be used more often because it is very effective. For example taking apart a pen and putting it back together has helped me become better at reverse engineering.
3. TSA website – Main facts
The Technology Student Association (TSA) is a national, non-profit organization of middle and high school students who are engaged in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). The TSA program fosters personal growth, leadership, opportunities in technology, innovation, design, and engineering.
4. What is a CTSO
CTSO is an acronym for Career and Technical Student Organization. This organization is specifically for students enrolled in CTE programs.
5. Color for TSA
The colors of TSA are scarlet (red), white, and blue (navy). Scarlet represents the strength and determination of the technology education students and teachers to obtain their goal. White represents high standards, morals, and religious beliefs. Blue represents the sincerity of the technology education students and the teachers in obtaining a greater knowledge of our technology world.

8. Know what the purpose of an engineer’s design notebook is (format, design, etc.)
~
9. Architectural scale measurements
An architect’s scale is a specialized ruler designed to facilitate the drafting and measuring of architectural drawings, such as floor plans and orthographic projections.
10. Metric system conversions
Metric system conversions are conversions that deal with temperature, weight, length, area, volume, speed, and time.
11. Engineering Lettered
Engineering lettering is lettering with the goals of legibility and uniformity. Technical lettering and engineering lettering have some things in common.
12. Rapid Prototyping (Faster Solutions for a Brighter Future assignment)
Rapid prototyping is a group of techniques used to quickly fabricate a scale model of a physical part or assembly using three-dimensional computer aided design (CAD) data.
13. Scale Factor
Scale factor is a number which scales or multiplies some quantity.
14. Understand what drafting is
Drafting is preparing a initial version of the project or task at hand.
15. Parametric/Surface modeling
A parametric model is a family of distributions that can be described using a finite number of parameters. The parameters are usually collected together to form a single k-dimensional parameter.
16. Orthographic/Multi – View Drawing
Orthographic drawing is a system that allows you to make a two-dimensional of a three-dimensional object.

19. Maker Movement
The maker movement is a contemporary culture representing a technology-based extension of DIY culture.
20. Know the difference between wire frame models, surface, and solid models
A wire frame model is an edge or skeletal representation of a real world 3D object using lines and curve.
Surface modeling is a complex way of representing objects. Surface modeling is used in CAD.
Solid modeling is a consistent set of principles for mathematical and computer modeling.
